Developing Indicators for Academic Library Performance

Share Share   Print

Each edition of this series presents 30 selected ratios that describe changes in internal library operations, as well as resources per faculty and per student, for the ARL university libraries over a two-year period.

Three types of ratios are included in the reports: percentages, relational, and annual changes. These data can be used by individual institutions to identify whether relative positions in rankings for ratios is as expected and to compare positions with peers, especially over time.

This publication was discontinued in 1999; the ratios are now generated dynamically within the ARL Statistics Interactive Edition, hosted online by the University of Virginia.
