Reconfiguring the Professional Workforce

Liaison Roles

Liaison work engaging with faculty and researchers is a key function for research library professionals and essential to advancing the role of the research library. Reflecting the importance of the position, how to reconfigure liaison work to reflect evolving information services and practices of research and scholarship has become a topic of broad concern. Identifying emerging roles and determining how to develop corresponding liaison capabilities are common challenges facing ARL members.
